Growth Mindset
We are learning to have a Growth Mindset at Twin City Elementary School and in our classroom. A Growth Mindset is the belief that intelligence improves through challenges, study and practice. In other words, people with a Growth Mindset understand that the brain is like a muscle. The more you challenge it, the stronger it grows.
"ClassDojo and Stanford's PERTS Research Center teamed up to create The Mojo Show. The five-episode video series (along with a few incredible activities) highlight the power of having a growth mindset, and how any student can learn this skill!" ~ClassDojo

Dear Future Growth Mindsetter
Letters
After finishing the 6-week LearnStorm class, we spent some time writing letters to future people who might be interested in learning more about developing a Growth Mindset.
In our letters, we shared the following:
1. Some encouraging words
2. Something we've done that is challenging
3. A challenge or difficulty that we've encountered
4. Ways we've dealt with a challenge or something frustrating
You can read our letters or click on the button below to watch us read our letters in a Flipgrid Video Response!
Happy
song by Pharrell Williams
We read and discussed the lyrics of the song, Happy, and found many connections to Growth Mindset within the lyrics. We illustrated the lyrics of the song and have included them in our video to show what our Growth Mindset attitudes look like.

Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof! (We sure do!)

Beautiful Oops!
By Barney Saltzberg
We were a part of a school-wide Growth Mindset project based on the book, Beautiful Oops!, by Barney Saltzberg.
While reading the book, we participated in a classroom discussion revolving around the concept of, mistakes. When developing a Growth Mindset, it is important to understand that mistakes are a part of learning. A person who is willing to take risks, view mistakes as an opportunity!
We then joined Mrs. Anderton's class and created a Beautiful OOPS art project. If you'd like to see our art project, it is on display in the hallway.
