Zach Langdalen
Martian Volcano Presentation
1-3-18
Zach Langdalen, is a college student in Hawaii. Zach has been involved in a research project about possible past volcanic activity on Mars. He brought a poster of his research and shared with us a little bit of what he is doing. We learned how they are studying volcanic ash from Iceland to try and make a comparison to what could be volcanic ash on Mars.
Zach shared photographs of all his travels he has been on while doing his research. He also showed us photos of the high tech microscope that he uses while taking photographs of individual pieces of volcanic ash. He explained that he had to write an extensive code to make it easier to take many pictures of the ash. Zach explained about the importance of math, science and coding knowledge in his studies. He also talked about learning good study skills now so that it helps in college!
