Everyone Has Culture
We participated in TCE's "Everyone Has Culture" event this year by writing, I Am From poems.
A few of the questions we asked ourselves prior to writing our poems were: Who am I? Where am I from? What are the pieces of my life story that make me, uniquely me? How can I share who I am and create an emotional response from my audience?
After writing our I Am From poems, we turned them into videos so that our audience could hear our voices and see our visual images.
While learning about culture we discovered that the most important thing is that everyone has culture! Culture shapes how we see the world, ourselves, and others.
We hope you enjoy our I Am From poems and videos! Be prepared to smile, laugh, and shed a tear or two.
We'd love it if you wrote your own I Am From poem and shared them with us so that we can all celebrate in the diversity of what makes each of us unique.
